Anyone else find the new look laughable? Check out the models wearing hoodies like they've a scrap of a towel twisted round them. Website is full of people who can't put their clothes on now. Uninspiring.

I actually haven't seen or heard much about A&F since the fuss of their store on College Green died down.
But in fairness I did buy a hoodie, gosh 8 or 9 years ago in the US, and it has washed and worn well. And when the store opened in Dublin I got another hoodie and trackie bottoms and still get great wear out of them.

But I'm not sure if their style is in style anymore. (Disclaimer - I'm not a young one anymore, I don't know what's cool with the kids nowadays)

I despise A&F, they have horrendous policies and tbh I always thought of them as just slightly gaudy hoodies (no doubt comfy though!). But I just a quick look and I think your main issue seems to be with the way the new collections are presented, rather than the clothes themselves? They obviously just have a weird art director who thinks it looks a bit "edgy", they are tanking as a company so no harm for them to try something new. Reminds me a bit of American Apparel though, and we all know how that went.

    Not well.

Having said that some of the stuff in the guys section looks pretty nice, actually.

I think a few American brands are in trouble. American Apparel are gone, Gap and Banana Republic sales are going down. A&F is in similar situation, I think they are trying to target older customers now.

You can tell that from the "new arrivals" section on the site. I'm mid-30's and some of it's not far from what I'd be picking up. I don't know how easy it'll be for them to shake the "hoodies and tracksuits" reputation they have though.

Plus the whole American casual look really isn't in atm. You have either ultra feminine stuff with ruffles, cold shoulders and similar or you have active wear that is sportier than their clothing.

TBH I take no note of what's "in" in womens clothing. Their guys stuff isn't too far off the mark, not all of it, but it is quite "Americana".
