3,000 Homeless and Civil Servants Gets 1,000 Euro PA Pay Hike

I know it is pointless posting this here with all the mods being Civil Servants and devoted vanguard of the system that serves them and them alone, but to read about 300,000 civil servants getting an extra 1,000 a year after unions cut a deal with the politicians while people are sleeping on the streets makes my stomach turn.

Sure we will be given the usual 'these pay increases were held off from last time' as if somehow this makes it all OK. Civil Servants have an unsackable job for life no matter how lazy and thick they are, they don't need this extra cash. How many homeless people could have been moved off the street and shelters with this money?

Official Ireland is one sick place.

Civil servants and homelessness, with a customary dig at the mods. Many birds with that stone, fair play.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

It really ****ing pisses me off as a self employed person, that people persist in calling me a civil servant.

Still at least I don't have to pay that poxy pension levy

Lots of civil servant competitions on at the mo.

Take the tests. Pass the assessments. Get the jobs.

Sure if you're not lazy or thick you'll have no problem!

You'll notice that people will demand free houses and celebrities will pull stunts to bring awareness to the issue which is never out of the media anyway....but you won't find these people demanding jobs. Or education. You know...the things that would allow them to pay their own way and contribute more to society.

How many homeless people have you helped this week OP?

What utter balderdash. Begrudgery and jealousy. You turn down pay increases and tax cuts, I'm sure. This is just a dig at as many people as possible in a single post. It all gets very tiring

What do they call them competitions? As for the OP, €1,000 isn't much after tax and the unions, who supported the charade that was Apollo house, negotiated it.

Are going to have to wait until there are no problems in the country before pubic servants can get a pay-rise. If so there will never be a suitable time. There are always issues, homelessness, health service issues, OAP's etc.

OPs post is pretty straight forward stuff that cannot be denied. It can be debunked, but not denied. Yet it quickly reaches 2 pages of posts and Im sure it will roll and roll forever before the thread is closed. Is it fear, annoyance or something else that draws people to it?

Coz you have to compete to get on a panel to get a job / promotion. Psychometric tests, presentations, job simulation tests and interviews generally.

It's realism in response to pure nonsense. And the OP knows quite rightly that his premise is nonsense.

Start a thread without the petty digs and it might be left open.
