Can anyone explain how to do this, the user guide is useless. I've googled around a bit but cant get the answer I need.

    I'm using a powered elements 500gb harddrive.
    Formatted on my pc.
Then plugged into Humax box, tried both usb ports but its not recognised.

Guess it has to be paired first but how do I do that, there is no options
    for pairing under 'recordings'

Do I go into 'settings' or maybe 'Humax' or is there 'Media' somewhere.

Can't check atm as box is being used.

    Looks like it should work...

Try disconnect from the mains the Humax box, then connect and power up the hard drive, wait until the hard drive has initialised and then power on the Humax box, should recognise it.

I know on the Foxsat model if you instal a new internal hard drive on it you have to format the drive using the onscreen menus rather than pre format on computer so yes that should do it.

    Up and running:D

Only problem I have, though I can live with it, is that there is no display on the stb screen. Only the red and green power light.

It was a common problem to which freesat issued a update to fix it.
I did an update search, and no new update were found.

If doing a 'live' recording, will it only record until that programme ends or will it continue recording through following programmes unless I end the recording.
