I've recently been selected for a phone interview for EBay tomorrow. Anyone been through this and can tell me some questions they might ask. It will be about 20 minutes. I'm very nervous I've been out of work 2 years. Thanks.

    What's the role?

    Regardless of role:
Brush up on the company, what they do, business sectors, where they operate from etc.
Read competency questions online, be ready for questions about situations in other jobs and how you dealt with them. E.g tell us about a time you worked well as a team. Or, tell us about a project you worked on that didn't achieve its goals.

OK, so just have loads of examples of when you gave excellent customer service, examples of difficult customer and how you delt with them, or how would you deal with an unhappy customer when you can do no more for them.
That kind of stuff. Good luck

Well I'd never say never. You never know they might just want to consider your application a bit more. I'd wait till the time they said they'd contact you and if they haven't by then it's no harm to email them and ask what the situation is. If it is a no be sure to ask for feedback, areas you can improve on and such. Interview isn't until 31st.

Yes becuse he asked me why I haven't worked in two years which is none of his business should he have asked that? I said because I had my daughter!! That's discrimination.

I think asking about a gap in your employment history is an acceptable question, but agreed it shouldn't have made a difference to your application, but from the sounds of it, it did. there no way to prove that, so it probably just a case of put it down as experience and keep looking. All the best in your job search.

I know I think it did though which is a shame. Thank you

Sorry to hear that but it could be for any number of reasons. A good interviewer will know straight away if your the right fit for the job. Did they give you any feedback as to why you were unsuccessful?

Don't worry about it - soul destroying work - there will be other jobs & opportunities - tomorrow's another day - don't let it get you down.
