Poor Internet (EIR)

    Hi,
Hope this is the right section to be posting this. Have broadband with EIR and since last November have had nothing but problems with reception. Up till Nov the coverage was good but since it is very poor. Contacted EIR in Nov and they said it was a problem with the line coming into the house so they sent out a technician who spent about 2 hour here and said he had it fixed. It has been no better since and yesterday rang them again and got through to a call center and was on the phone for about an hour and they tested the line, modem and phones. The outcome of all this is that one of the phones (as she said) is faulty so I disconnected that phone and she said all should be fine. It no better today I just feel that I am been given the run around by EIR. Has anyone else had a similar experience with EIR. Does anyone know of an independent expert who could test the internet and see where the problem is.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Its very possible you have two faults, one impacting the internet and another not (handset shorting). Line tests that support run will show that fault and they'll try to find it. Solving it can make the test look better without fixing performance.

A non OpenEir staffer cant rune MTAU tests so you're better off persisting with them to track it down. Leave *everything* other than the modem out for 24hrs, record issues then call them. That'll expedite the process.
