My Dad just received a phone call from this number: 019038688 and the guy on the phone, who was foreign, started telling him about the Euromillions jackpot and asked him what his lucky numbers were.
Playing along, my Dad gave him six numbers.

Then the guy asked my Dad how much he spends on a Euromillions ticket normally. Dad said "€5" and the guy said "Wow! It's only 40c with us sir, can I have your email address so I can send you some details?".

At this point, I told my Dad to tell the guy he didn't have an email address as I was curious as to the guy's next move.

However, the guy said "Maybe your wife or child has an email address. I will call you back later today to get it from you."

Anyway, obviously this is a scam, but I'm curious as to how they extract money from you?
    Anyone familiar with this scam?

PS The guy said "Check out our website, <snip>dodgy site</snip>.com for more info" but I haven't checked it out incase it's dodgy.

Website looks pretty legit (Not saying they are)
They provide a valid phone number (I tried the UK number listed on the website), their support is based in Bulgaria.

Its a Euromillions syndicate company. They play numbers for you and you receive a share if they win big.

They're not helping themselves by cold calling people or being based in Bulgaria. haha.

Yeah, they are syndicate dealies where, you might be paying 1/12 of the price, but you'd probably only earn 1/50 or less of the prize :)

Like that postcode thingy. If 1,000 people buy a 10'er ticket, then it's very easy to give one lucky winner £6,000 :D
