So, I drive out past Birdhill, Co. Tipp, five times a week usually, taking my daughter to work .

Last week my daughter saw a fairly large bird of prey in a bare tree near the road and when I looked back in my side mirror it was big enough for me to make it out among the tree . Today I saw it standing on a post beside the motorway . It seems to me to be atleast 16" tall , that kinda forest brown with a white collar . Much bigger than anything I have seen before .

Anyone have any idea what it might be ?

PS: 50 years old and I'm absolutely delighted with myself for seeing it .
