Just had a major teeth cleaning and I'm still numb in my lips but my teeth are really starting to hurt and it's getting much worse as time goes on. I can't eat or drink yet so can't take a pain med, I had the entire top and from the right side to the middle of my bottom half of my mouth numbed. When should it wear off enough to eat and drink? It's almost been 3 hours now

Why can't you take pain killers??
    Should be worn off now....

Swallowing was not an option until a few minutes ago! Rather taking a mouthful of water wasn't an option unless I wanted it to spill all over myself.

I'm guessing it's passed now but FYI for e.g lidocaine you get somewhere around 2-3 hour soft tissue anaesthesia with about 45 min good pulpal.

Had an infiltration a couple of months ago and have to say the soft tissue anaesthesia felt like it lasted quite a while.
