Family of 5 Holiday in July/August on a budget of €3000 including spending money

We normally take our holiday in early June, however I've been told by my boss that from 2018 onwards I'm needed at work during the month of June.

Any suggestions on a family friendly holiday in July or August for 2 adults and 3 children on a budget of €3000, including spending money?

Our kids are 9, 6 and 4, so it's important we go somewhere where there is plenty of them to do. The eldest 2 really enjoy the Eurocamp Kids Camps in Northern France the last 2 years.

Don't have an answer for you op and sorry to derail your thread here but we were thinking of doing a euro camp holiday this year and have a few questions.

Just wondering if you bring your car with you when you go? I wouldnt be into driving over on the ferry but would this be feasible in your opinion? we have a 10, 5 and 1 year old.

Yeah prices shoot up big time in July & Aug for campsites in France.
We drove twice on ferry, then flew into Nantes last year and rented a car. Our 4 are 7,5, 3, 1.
Kids loved the ferry but I found it a bit claustrophobic.
Plane into Nantes was grand, 1hr40 in the air, at the campsite in less than an hour.
Vendee has a lovely microclimate compared to Carnac where we went the first time...

Did look on Airbnb and there are places to rent mobile homes on well known sites up and down the west coast of France.

Save a couple of hundred Euro at least/get 3 beds for what you would pay Eurocamp for a 2 bed etc.

Last day of AerLingus sale today so we have to make our decision tonight!!!

If you can go the very last day of June you should get June prices for some of the accommodation. Likewise with flights. We were on a very tight budget for many years and booked independently going out very often on June 29th or 30th. It was hundreds dearer to go a day or two later. We did Lake Garda several times with Eurocamp. It would mean getting a train from Milan to Peschiera del Garda which is about an hour and a half's journey. Bit of trains planes and automobiles but doable! We also went to another Eurocamp site in Rome which was very accessible. The campsite can pick you up from the airport for a reasonable fee.

We did 9 days with Eurocamp in Duinrell Campsite last July and costs were very reasonable. Aer Lingus & Ryanir both fly to Schipol so flights should be reasonable. We got return flights for c.€100 each.

Accessible via public transport from Schipol although we booked a transfer with suntransfers as it cost around the same as train and bus would have.

Campsite has its own theme park which is great and admission is included in the cost. On site aqua park is payable but reasonable.

No real need to leave the park other than the short walk to the lovely town of Wasseraar for shopping or cheap ice cream in Lucianos

What was the cost of accommodation?

IIRC it was under €1200 including extras like linen & towels

Eurocamp were by far the cheapest at the time but may be worth shopping around

TBH it won't make any difference who you book with as I don't think any of them run kids clubs or the like what with Rick the Frog and the theme park keeping the kids happy all day

We have, in the past, booked through Thomson Al Fresco which might be an option if sterling dips
