Ok got a cheap flight to Edinburgh but doing the red eye flight in and the late flight home for a day trip on a Sat soon. Been to Edinburgh a few times already but still looking for things to do.
Going to get a return tram ticket into town and visit the castle around lunchtime to see the guns fire at 1pm but other than that its going to be go with the flow.
Miss Gunner travelling also so anyone got any recommendations or anything out of the norm / quirky to do?

I really enjoyed Mary King's Close, it is open during day time (as you are not staying the night, you won't be able to do any of the evening ghost tours)

If you were thinking of a side trip to Glasgow, A Pie, a Pint and a Play is worth a visit.
