Removing sealant from tile floor without cutting

I had the plumbers over recently and they left a nice mess of sealant all over my terracotta kitchen tile.

If I ask them to clean it off they will undoubtedly take short cuts and try to sand it off or do something to damage the tile (based on my experience with them), so is there a solvent I can use to loosen the sealant without damaging the tile?

I've tried cutting away at it with a blade but not having much success, also there will always be some residue left behind.
