Canary Islands Question

    Hi there,
Just wondering, if anybody has been to the island of La Palma for a holiday? The reason why I'm looking for an insight is because it's less travelled or visited by tourists of all the Canary Islands. I've been to Lanzarote twice and loved it there but we were thinking of trying out something completely different. It's a lot more quiet than it's sister Islands, scenery is beautiful and it's well known for star gazing. Flights are more restricted, but it is possible to get there, just not by Aer Lingus or Ryanair. I'd love to know if anyone has been there and how they got there
    Many thanks :-)

You may be a bit disappointed.

La Palma sports an international airport and an Ikea branch.

You might find just as ( or even more so ) non touristy areas in Tenerife ( Teno & the northside or Anaga ) or round the north west of Gran Canaria.

If you want to go native then probably best to head to el hierro. la gomera is nice for a ramble. Both are very small.

Fred Olsen & Armas operate ferries

Probably best if you brush up on your spanglish / mexican before you go.

    Have Fun:)

I Know several people who have been to and continue to go on holidays to La Palma, and they love it! Its not like the other canary islands, much quieter, but sounds charming and beautiful and very cheap for eating out etc.
Easyjet fly there from London Gatwick, other than that its a charter flight or maybe the ferry from Tenerife

I was looking at going to Tenerife myself.
From what I can see, one is better off booking a package holiday rather than booking flights and accom seperately as the hotels appear to work out alot more expensive if booked alone using hotels.com/bookings.com for example?
Im considering heading in February. Anyone have any tips on obtaining good last minute deals?
Is Playa de las Americas madness all year round? Would like some atmosphere but dont want to be surrounded by 20 year olds off their heads either :)

    thanks

we booked Ryanair from Belfast for 160 return for 2 as opposed to 400 from Dublin.
4 star half board for 660 in Puerto Cruz with a great view of the city and coastline
Car hire 120 for a week.
