Hi guys im in the process of focusing on heating and heat loss in my house. At the minute im looking to top up the existing insulation in the attic, it currently has insulation filling the joists but im going to put another 200mm on top of that.

Homebase are currently doing a special on Knauf earthwool 200mm(€18 or £12.90 up north) , would this be suitable for my attic or am i better spending more on a better product? Thanks in advance.

This is a great product at a great price. Good insulation values and easier on the skin, eyes and lungs than fiberglass.
If your existing insulation is very old you should dump it. Years of dust and dirt slowly compresses it and it looses its insulation properties. 200 mil is great. If you have an electric shower make sure that the cable stays on top of the insulation

Thanks Sleeper12, the current insulation is in good order, the house is 11 years old, still looks clean and full of life. Thanks for the feedback, now to borrow a van to fit it all in :D
