Hi all.Im looking for a bit of advice on going to college.Im a 36 year old man with a full time job,a wife and 3 young children. So why do you want to go to college I here you say.Lets just say it's probably a bit of a mid life crisis lol only joking, maybe I'm not I don't know. The financial situation is my biggest worry. Is it wise to leave full time work and full time pay.I don't mind having less money but I don't want the family to suffer.I know there are grants out there and income support I have been reading up on it all week. The thing is I am a bit bamboozled by it all.
Any advice would be great thanks.

You can take a lot of courses at night time in college. I myself have applied for an accounting course, two nights a week, 7pm to 10pm. I work 8-5, Monday to Friday.

The fees are expensive but think of it as an investment in your future, when you get that piece of paper into your hands, it'll be all worth it.

The thing is for full-time workers like you and me is that there's not a lot of financial support available, it seems you have to be on the dole for a certain amount of time before anyone will help you.

Do you work somewhere that might support you with your further studies? Many workplaces are accommodating in the flexibility they offer staff especially around further education and upskilling.
