    There's thoroughbreds been bred in this country it seems forever and we have to go to France now to get our top nh hunt horses. Same with buying flat horses in America and Australia. Increased trade benefits all. If one country has good horses, more foreign buyers will buy them and then it'll reverse around again.

    Not really. We've been selling to Japan and other countries for years. Japan has the added bonus of several Irish studs and trainers being based there too, including Darley. They haven"t caught up.
    These may be some of the top horses in China, but they're substandard horses here.
    I have to say, the fact that China is trying to up their game so they come to Ireland to buy our lower standard horses, is very telling of the quality of horse we can produce here. Impressive given the size of the country.
