    Yep, it's another foodie thread.
It doesn't have to be a restaurant that specialises in vegetarian menus, perhaps some of the mainstream restaurants have excellent veggie dishes. I just want to know, if you were taking a vegetarian out, or fancied a no meat dish who has the best menu for that in Galway?

    This too shall pass.

    The Lighthouse?

This place blew me away with it's veggie options, after i popped in for a look on a rainy day. HUGE step away from the typical 'roasted veg panini' option.

I haven't checked out Temple in the cornstore so Im not sure about it but maybe have a look. The High Cafe also used to do decent veggie options.

The Gourmet Offensive (awful name), on Mary's St, does only veggie food and it's awesome.

High cafe is good for the amount of choice.

Rouge is usually good (though I don't think it's up to the standard it used to be) but you only have the one dish.

The falafel place across from Sally's that used to be La Salsa is all vegan, feckin delicious.

The café in the museum is excellent and loads of choice.

Jungle café is good for lunch if you're not in a rush.

They only do takeaway I think but Harlowe is really good if you want something down and durty but not crap. Great fries and a lovely haloumi burger.

There's tgo falafel down abbeygate street , just the biz ! He has a stall at the market on sat that makes them even better somehow but there's more choice in the restaurant

As well as whatever the veggie option is in Rouge, a couple side dishes are amazing. Ratatouille, potato dauphinoise, the latter deffo not vegan though. My completely veggie pal just orders 3 of them.

Eastern Tandoori also a great option, Indian in general. Check before booking for vegan options though.

Thanks folks, its just Vegetarian rather then all out vegan for now but I'm sure other people coming across this will appreciate the advice.

    This too shall pass.

Now called 37 West. It's on Newcastle road. They also own 56 Central on shop street so that would be worth a try too.

Fairly sure that those aren't vegetarian

Oh just remembered Quay Street Kitchen is very good too. Particularly if it's mixed group, it's not a specifically vegetarian restaurant but options for veggies and vegans and the staff know what they're talking about.

    Really? Like what?

I mean it's a nice pub. Good vibe. Pints are not bad. Staff are sound. Even have a loyalty card. But I don't recall the menu being "amazing", and it's certainly no more veggie than any other pub in town.

If you ever want to order in a Vegetarian meal, I recommend an Indian Bombay Allou from Tandoori - I'm sure the other Indian Takeaways do it too but that's where I used order from and was fecking delicious

Yes! I've always been of the opinion that if you're in the food business, one of the most obvious words you should avoid in your name is "offensive"! :D

The Oslo in Salthill actually have some good options.

Dough Bros also have some very nice veggie pizzas (try their "Hey Pesto").

^ both good choices for a mixed group.

I've had a lot of strong recommendations for this place - haven't made it in yet but have only heard very positive things

I haven't checked out Temple in the cornstore so Im not sure about it but maybe have a look.

+1 for Café Temple. Most dishes are veggie or vegan by default with the option to add meat.

Do they close fairly early though? Would it be suitable for an evening meal?
