    Hi..we need to get a felt roof extension replaced...my question is do insurance companys entertain felt roofs?

    the criteria for different companies varies from insurer to insurer but generally once you use traditional materials (of which felt is one) you should be ok but there are generally other items you also need to take care of for cover. One is the % of flat roof generally cant exceed a certain % of overall roof area (check your policy) and the second is that it must be checked every so often and a roofers certificate produced which should be filed in case your insurer requests it as part of a claim. Bottom line check with your insurance companies documents for the correct specifics of your case.
