Stuck in a career I hate

I think I've chosen the wrong career and I'm now in a job I hate. I'm in my mid-late twenties. I feel miserable all the time because of work, but I don't know what to do as I've no other skills so leaving the job doesn't seem like an option right now. I feel completely stuck.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you go back to college or maybe do a part time evening course to upskill. If youre in a city you could do a Celta course part time, its only 6 weeks and you'll get a job with it no problem in Ireland or abroad, I think its available to do in some towns too. Otherwise you could do a BA or masters part time if you cant get a grant or emigrate for work.

Is it just your current role or do you have a specific dream job that you want to do but aren't doing?

You have at least 35-40 years of work ahead of you so plenty of time to make a change. Take the time to figure out what you want to do.
The key is make the change. Set a 1 year, 3 year, 5 year goal.

    e.g
1 Year - undertake some further education, certifcation etc in the area you want to move into.
3 Year - have moved to the new area.

I work in IT and we have a Support Analyst who was building walls on construction sites only 2 years ago.

"I've no other skills" You do even if you don't recognise them. Careers may not be the most fluid, but many skills are transferable between industries and roles.

The longer you leave it, the less easy you might find it to swtich, e.g get married, buy house, children etc...
