Leak in central heating system (Glasnevin, Dublin) Who can fix?

My house has GFCH, and there is a leak somewhere in the system.

The boiler is an Ideal Mini S24. There are 8 rads on two floors (4 on each). The system was installed around 2006. There seems to have been a small leak for years, I open the valve to top up the system from the mains every few months and bleed the rads. When I do that the pressure gauge on the boiler goes up to about 1.2 bar, but mostly it sits at zero bar and the boiler works anyway. Air seems to collect mostly in one upstairs rad that works poorly as a result.

Lately the system has become very noisy - there are gurgling sounds coming from the rads and a "whooshing" noise at times from the boiler. When I top up the system the pressure drops back to zero inside an hour or two. (Can't say how long exactly, haven't watched it that closely.) Once or twice the boiler failed to ignite and the warning lights flashed with a code that means the pressure is too low. Right now, the boiler isn't even on and the are "glugging" sounds coming from it occasionally.

Does this mean that the leak has got worse? Would air in the system account for all of those noises? The boiler is overdue for a service, would that make any difference?

There is no sign of water from the leak anywhere, which makes me think it is below the floorboards on the ground floor. If I'm lucky it may be in or around the press where the boiler and hot water cylinder live.

Should I be looking for a plumber to trace and fix the leak? Or someone to service the boiler first?

Any recommendations for someone to do this, in the Glasnevin/Drumcondra area of Dublin?

All comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

A "service" is not a cure all for heating systems that are giving trouble.
Ideally you need a plumber who is also a RGI who is happy to investigate your heating system to try identify where the problem lies.
As the problem may be related to the gas boiler only an RGI can legally work on the gas boiler, but some RGIs will not work on the heating system side.
So explain the situation to them before getting someone out.

Thanks, K.Flyer. I know that a "service" isn't a cure-all, but just wondered if it's worth doing first.

Realistically, I expect that the main problem will be finding and fixing the leak. Guess I need to look for an RGI who's a plumber then. Can anyone recommend one, in or around Dublin 9?
