    Hi,

I had a look at some old threads for info. Is €1,000 and up pretty typical for flights to Colombia, say for early June? That's Dublin - Medellin, returning from Bogota.

Just had a look at edreams.ie.

I put in Dublin Medellin return 1/22 June and it came back at €788. I think they put a fee on top of that, so around €810 or so. I know you want to fly back from Bogota, so add on 50/100 I suppose.

I was looking leaving on the 1st, returning on the 18th. I used Google.ie/flights and went from there. Haven't confirmed things yet and may look at other options/destinations.

Is there a visa requirement for Irish citizens? From searching it looks like no.

No visa required for Irish passport holders.

Northern Ireland and southern Ireland might be a question you'll be asked by border police or by people you meet, thanks to the Colombia 3.

Enjoy Colombia if you go, one heck of a place.

We paid just shy of a grand for return flights in June/July. Fly to Medellin, return from Cartagena (via Bogota).

Turkish airlines and Canadian airlines had flights for 820 Bogota return. Don't fancy flying through Istanbul. The Canadian flight has two long stopovers in Toronto.

Yes was in Colombia 5 or so years ago

    Came across from Venezuela
Stayed in Santa Marta on the coast and Cartagena on to Medellin, Bogotá
    Manizales, Cali

Down to popayan and around coffee country

Stayed in pasto, last city before Ecuador border a few times.

Also visited ipiales very close to the border

Went on down to Ecuador after Colombia
