Ulaan2015: the 2017 half marathon

As you may slightly recall, in 2015, in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital, I travelled from Clifden to Ulaanbaatar and back.

Now in 2017, having suffered a heart attack, the return leg. This time only as far as Perm and Irbit in Russia, to the Ural Motorcycle Factory. Returning via Ukraine.

I plan to solely update this thread along the way. So if anyone is interested, go along to the Ulaan2015 Facebook page as well for more details.. yes this is a rush job, if anyone is interested in doing a Facebook logo, please contact me

Appearing on Community Matters on Connemara Local radio this evening.

Due to needing to cross into Russia by the 5th or 6th, I am leaving on the 29th of April from Clifden. Up to Dublin, then down to Rosslare for the overnight ferry to England. Then a dash to the Chunnel and up to Amsterdam, where TomTom are interviewing me for their internal newsletter and possibly some sponsorship. Givi are putting the trip onto their website next month also

Irbit, I cannot visit the factory nor take photos as they handle military contracts. Now we can all imagine what a military Ural looks like. Oh well. But I can visit the museum, which adjoins the factory :eek: How many Urals can I borrow

As such return leg, will I return, is undecided. I was planning Ukraine but may look at Belarus
