    Hi all,

Thinking about this years summer plans and considering cutting across Germany and towards Slovenia, Serbia & Croatia. Has anyone experience of campervanning there? Any suggestions or recommendations?

    Thanks a million

Was in Slovenia two years ago. Came in from Germany, Austria and travelled south to Italy.
You need a vignette to drive on the motorways ( available in filling stations). In my experience the country roads can get very narrow but the scenery is worth it. There's an old world unspoilt feel about the countryside.
Lake Bled is probably the most popular camping destination but it is choc a bloc in the summertime. It is stunning. Lake Bohinje a few km away is even more spectacular ( if Such a thing is possible) and a lot quieter but still busy. Lovely campsite with a wild camping feel about it with good walking swimming and cycling nearby.
I'll try to post a pic seperately.

Cheapest on route diesel in France.
    Lights always on in Austria.
    Nationwide toll in Switzerland.

Every year we drive to Belgrade for the summer and later on down to Greece.
Slovenia would be completely European-standard, it's a mini Austria.
Croatia will have lots of camping infrastructure by the coast, by 2nd hand anecdotal opinion is not to expect anything verdant.
Inland Croatia would be a lot like Serbia I expect.
Serbia has very little infrastructure for camping/camper vans. The cost of tourist accommodation is quite low there already, so it's hard to make any business case for campsites on the basis of cost.
Apart from the main motorways North, South and West, the remainder of Serbian national roads are fairly dire. You'll soon understand why every village has at least 4 "Vulkanisers".
Also the mix of old Yugos and gasterbeiter Audis, don't make for a good mix on the roads. Anything can, and usually does happen, so watch out for other traffic.
