My scope is dusting in the attic for the past one year.
    Ive paid over €3,000.
You are asking how much ? It hurts me to say that a lens set could be €15 or €500 ...

    My advice: forget it !

The value is very dependent on the overal package, such as Eye Peices and accessories.

A single Eye Peice can set you back a substantial sum, as rolion says anything from €15 to €500.

I am aware of a seller who was looking for €600 for the tube only last year http://www.adverts.ie/telescopes-binoculars/celestron-c8-telescope/9676296

I can also understand rolion's frustration, as the Irish weather is very against us part-time astronomers.

The G8 is a great scope and in good condition will last for years, if properly cared for.

Forgot to say, you are also more than welcome to PM me as to what are the contents and price of the overall package and I can give you my opinion.

The G8 is an older scope, but any scope looked after well will last a great many years.

It should be on a manually controlled CG5 if its the original mount, so no electronics to worry about.

As for price, it depends on what comes with it.

For scope and mount, in good condition, with no extras, about €1000.
