According to Jimbo over on Digital Spy, there are currently test versions of BBC Four HD & CBeebies HD for ROI on 11.023 H, DVB-S2 8PSK SR 23.000 FEC 2/3.
I wonder when they will be added to the epg? I look forward to recording BBC Four HD - I think it's a great channel.

would be nice if they added BBC News or BBC World for Irish viewers.

Why would they need a Republic of Ireland version of BBC4?

So Sky can encrypt it and charge you for it? :P

The versions carried by Sky in ROI do not have the red button. Otherwise, they're the very same as the UK streams.

looks like this might be getting closer. Digital Spy reporting that BBC Four HD will be on 285 or 211 in ROI.

These channels on 11023 are the same ones that Freesat uses. Nothing special for ROI as far as I can tell.

BBC Four HD isn't currently on Sky's Irish epg - that's what's being referred to here.

OK but as it's the same channel on the same transponder how can it not have red button services on it?

If you have the HD pack they're on 211,613 and 614.
Whatever about our chances of getting Ch 5 ITV's etc on the EPG it still bugs me that we aren't getting Ch 4 in HD when it's available on FTA and Virgin.

It's the same channel on the same transponder, but carried on a different stream with Red Button identifiers deactivated.

Nice the more HD channels the better. I'm surprised they didn't add BBC News HD at the same time.

Also getting channel 4 HD wouldnt go amiss either

I'll try it with my recordable UK card and see is there a red button service.

it's annoying that the BBC have licensing restrictions for here when most of their content is available here anyway. There is no reason why we shouldn't have BBC News, there aren't any licensing problems with that. Same goes for Channel 4, they have most of their channels and even their online content available here but no Channel 4HD or Channel4Seven.

As for Channel 5 and ITV, they will never ever be available here as both companies have zero interest in being made available in Ireland.

Anyone having problems with BBC 4 HD live pause not working last night? It was working perfectly on the SD version (285). I tried recording a program but got an error cannot insert into planner, it was happening on both my boxes.

There's only one C4 HD region - London.

Still no live pause on BBC 4 HD, I tried a planner rebuild but no joy it's working perfectly on the SD version.

I was able to set programmes to record from the channel and watched them back later. I cannot live pause the channel or record the current programme on air at the time.

It's shocking tbh I thought it would have been sorted by now. I didn't try scheduling a future recording. It's a good job the SD version works.

I’ve found a temporary solution to recording a live programme – press the i button, go to the programme that’s on and press record. It should not be necessary to do this, but it works until this issue is resolved.

It's the same stream everyone gets but just with different properties inside the channel - so the red button stuff is left out of this ne.

As you can see from this thread, Irish subscribers are having problems with BBC Four HD. I presume that this isn't a problem with the version carried by Sky in the UK.

The reps are very quiet on this one, how hard can it be?
