I recently finish a fixed term contract job and I am actively looking for a new job but in the mean time I've signed on for jobseekers benefit. If it comes to it and I am out for a few months will I meant to go on some course? I've no problem if it is related to my career or experience. I have a college degree and I am hopeful about getting a job quick but I don't want to be forced to do some course in a field I have zero interest in and won't help me in the long run.

    Hey,
Yes, you can be put on some FAS course or there other. It all comes down to a social welfare officer who will be reviewing you at some point. You could be on the dole three months then told to go on a course while someone else could be on it a year then told to. It varies.
