    Hi
I had a big leak coming from under my bathroom sink earlier, it happened before so I remembered the plumber showed me to turn the red nobs in the hot press to turn the water off.

So there where two red nobs and I wasn't sure which one so I turned both in a panic as the leak was now coming through the kitchen ceiling.

It didn't stop the leak as it was the cold tap and the last time it was the hot so useless anyway.

So plumber came out fixed the leak, only needed to tighten a nut and went on his way and I realised the hot water taps were off from my messing about.

I turned the nobs bothe back admittedly I can't remember how the were to start but no combination of turning them will produce water, in fact water will only come out of the hot taps if I turn the bath cold tap on. Not really sure how that works but any ideas would be great.

also I can't seem to post a pic off my phone but there is a red Bob in the top half of the hot press on the left which say on and off, this turns a lot both ways.
The second one is in the bottom half athe the back of the hot press right above the emersion tank this says O and S . this one only turns either way a small bit I'm guessing o and S means open and shut?

There's far more expert people than me around these parts, but at a guess I'd say you have an air lock in the water system somewhere in the house effecting water flow. Turn on all the taps in the house (hot and cold), all at once, to get the water flowing again. Once they're all flowing then turn them off. Start turning them off at the highest point once you get flow (e.g. upstairs bath and sink taps off first) and then turn all the others off one after another.

when you are turning the valves back on how much to they turn, less than 1 full turn, a couple of turns or more than 6 turns.
some times these valves can stick closed or snap off internally. (make sure you are turning them anti-clockwise)

Do you have a mixer tap on the bath (one tap that both the colds and hot water comes out of)?
when you turn on the bath cold tap is it cold water that comes out of the other hot taps?
