Looking for some assistance please! I just went to the dole office as I need to sign on until I get a job(recently graduated!).I was shocke dlooking through the form that I will have to bring with me the last 3 payslips of my parents. They both work.I have moved back in after finishing college. Why do I now have to ask them to provide me with their payslips. They funded me through college and I did not receive 1 cent of grant assistance,I think this is unfair..................and is it the norm?
    Will I get any benefit?

If you're under a certain age (I think it's 25 but I could be wrong) your parents income will be used in the means test for JSA. It's perfectly normal.

If your a young adult, under 26, living with your parents then the State considers that you enjoy the "benefit and privilege " of living in their house with access to food and heat and comfort.
If you didn't get the SUSI grant I doubt you'll get any JSA

Applicable up until the 25th birthday.

When you apply for Jobseeker's Allowance, your means are assessed to see whether you will qualify. If you are 24 years of age or under and you are living with a parent or a step-parent in the family home, your parents' income is also taken into account.
