    Hi there,
Recently moved into a house with a conservatory (4m x 2.5m - only 2 slides are windowed - one side is against house wall, and other that opens into the house) that opens into the living area (kitchen / dining room open plan), with only a heavy curtain separating.

Conservatory area is like an ice box as it's now winter, and I presume it'll be too warm during the summer.
Curtains have to be drawn pretty much all day now to keep the heat in the living area, thus making the conservatory area unusable and living area very dark, which is annoying as we'd high hopes to make use of the extra space.

My opinions as I see it are:
    Short term
Install glass doors between living space and conservatory to make the open plan living space more 'livable', by keeping heat in and allowing more light in.

    Short to Medium Term
*Install roof on conservatory - unsure if conservatory really suitable for this and if it'll make much of a difference.
*Knock conservatory and build out proper extension on this space. Dearest option, but would this be best?

Any tips / advice welcome, especailly on what others have done.
The conservatory is nearly 25 years old

put in door with double glazing between house and conservatory

If you need the space all year round consider proper extension

4 by 2.5 is small when u consider door to garden and with ope to house and the pathway internally that creates so I would consider 'doze and replace in time.
