Sky hub

I'm currently with Vodafone for broadband and have no issues. Sky are trying to get me to take broadband with my tv sub but I'm just wondering is the the hub still crap? I remember threads here long ago complaining about the hub or just sky service in general.

I have an archer C9 bridged to the vodafone modem currently, as far as I know that's not possible with Sky but it's not really a deal breaker unless the hub is a POS.

    Any opinions?

Depends on what hub, the Sky Q hub gets very good reviews these days.

I'm possibly taking a sky Q sub with them. I'm at the end of an offer and getting a decent deal on Q. Haven't actually checked the price they are offering on the broadband yet because I was a stickler for keeping my archer but I've no real need to keep it.

I was with sky when I was on ADSL and it was dreadful, I had no issues with the router, WiFi was fine etc but from 7 to 12 in the evening it was unusable.

Since I got the Sky Q hub my Archer is still boxed up. However part of that reason is the max I'm getting with Sky anyway is around 30 so I won't really benefit too much with it, and the blackspots I get I'd get with any router due to the house anyway.

You would have had the same issue with Eir and Vodafone too?

Nope I never had a bother with any other providers on either ADSL or VDSL. My twisted pair days are behind me now with the arrival of VM.

    Newer hubs are ok.

Problem with Sky is their peering can be a bit wonky at times. If you've no gamers in the house itll probably be fine, but if not I'd be slow to move.

I used to play a bit of cod years ago but those days are long gone haha. It's just used for general browsing and sky on demand.
