I'm intending to build this 25 sqm Garage:

^ Just a basic outline, internal floor space will be 6m by 4.2m (4.167).

The garage will be located about 10m behind the house and will be partially visible from the road (House is on 3/4 acre site). The house is red brick with a tiled roof. Does the finish of the garage need to match the finish of the house regardless of location? Can you get away with just finishing the front wall to match the house?

I want to insulate the garage well to accommodate my woodwork hobby. I was thinking of doing a DIY timber frame with insulation, breathable membrane, vapour barrier and lining the walls with plywood. I'd get a block layer to do the external walls.

Anybody have any idea of the cost of the following:
    • Insulated raft (concrete, steel & insulation)
    • 3m wide insulated roller door
    • Access Door
    • 2m * 1m Window
    • Blocks / bricks
    • Roof tiles
    • Timber for internal framing and roof
    • Insulation
    • Membranes
    • Timber frame wall ties.
    • Lintels and Sill.

If you have any other advice / tips, would be great to hear them.
