Beko PTC relay...

    Hi,

Our GNEV120AP Beko fridge/freezer decided to pack in last night. From what I can tell it's the PTC Relay that's failed. Compressor kicks in for a second or two and then clicks off. This repeats every 5-10 minutes or so.

I've had a look around but Beko don't seem to supply this part any longer (unit is about 6 years old). I have read that there are universal relays that can be used but I'm not sure about compatibility with this model.

    Anyone got any advice??

highly unlikely that its faulty, you will need a meter to check the windings of the compressor and also see what amps it is pulling, would think it has either seized or a winding open circuit. either of these two faults will cause the thermal overload to operate as you describe. depending on where you live you will be lucky to find a tech who has the gear for to do a replacement
