    What stops you from, for example:

    Going on the rampage and murdering your entire family with an axe?
    Fishing out your 7-iron and beating your wife to death?
    Suffocating your husband with a pillow?
    Pushing someone in front of a bus?

    I'm kind of a hippy so the above actions don't really float my boat. However there are angry types out there and I sometimes wonder what holds them back. Presumably the mandatory life sentence is the main deterrent.

    I'm a bit lost here :confused:
