I'll be graduating in May and preparing to get the job hunt on the way or to be prepared closer to the time. What sites are the best. I'm looking at indeed monster etc but are they any I should be looking though as well. I checked the resources thread but some of the links are dead.

Put your name with recruitment company's in the industry go in interview with them.

Like of CPL and Sigmar recruitment. They would have wish lists from clients to fill positions

I was looking at CPL but when I did a search on here about them, they didn't get a good review. Beggers can't be choosers I suppose.

Never had issues with them myself whatsoever.

The Internet tends to be full of complaints people don't login to purposefully give compliments :)

    • Systems Administrators
    • IT Project Managers
    • Self-employed (technicians and consultants)
    • IT specialists for local authorities and international organisations
those are good skills, but one trouble with serious companies youll experience is that they look few years experience minimum in required fields, also certs be it MSC or similar.

Sites like monster.ie have a lot of requiters that would call you but in many cases they barely know what position you be suited and usually dont provide much info about role/s they have rather asking questions on what wages you would expect, offering positions that would be out of reach most the times,or require traveling/contract jobs etc -if your fine with such then no harm in having cv there.

but location wise i guess youd know better what companies are around and just send cv directly in case theres openings.Since junior positions are hard to come by,unless fancy Dublin-Naas business parks area since a lot of them are situated in clusters around Dublin.

Yes that's the thing I don't have the luxury to be picky.Just sending my C.V to business/HR suppose I would just title it Junior roles in IT department?

just target your cv towards what you can do if sys admin > then your looking at helpdesk, technician support roles,to land it first then working on building your career from there.

Also keep cv simple 2 pages at most. Most IT companies look at what you can do,and what sort of knowledge experience you have in that field.

EDIT:also since your still in college ,speak with your lecturers since they would be connected with IT businesses and would know companies, from grads etc, thus might point you in the right direction even if it means getting internship first.

well its a bit like facebook nowadays.but worth having decent profile and connecting with other people who are in IT and you know, also good for looking up other people in the industry or companies you are interested, since more chances of getting noticed, and most companies would look up your likedin account, thus put it in the middle after your contact details, thus keeping cv simple and having more details about your skills on linkedin.
