Eir F1000 Vs. Eir F2000 modems - anyone tested them on the same line/setup etc?

    Hi folks,
    Interested to see if there is any difference between the Eir F1000 ZyXEL VMG8324-B10A and the Eir F2000 Huawei HG659b in terms of their modem by someone who might have used both on the same line/setup.

    How do they differ (if at all) in terms of line/data sync rates for upstream/downstream speeds?

    It really shouldn't matter to the vast majority.

    With ADSL the profiles were fluid, a 5km and a 1km line could both be set to 8Mb and the 5km would "do its best". So having a motorola unit made a big impact as they had a much more aggressive chip. 1.7Mb vs 1Mb is a big win.

    With VDSL the prequals are enforced so a 73Mb line will only ever be profiled at 70. The odd time a 68Mb line will prequal high and get a 70Mb profile, then the difference between a crap modem and a good one can mean 66 or 69Mb so relatively little.

    True, the profiles wouldn't effect the download but might on the upload which isn't fixed (at least on my connection).
