My chromecast cannot connect to my home network. It is the Ericom f2000 wifi modem.

Anyone got any tips to get this working?

    Thanks

Are you using 5Ghz WiFi only?
Original Chromecast is a 2.4GHz device only.

No I am trying to connect to the 2.4Ghz signal, it just times out eventually. Password etc is correct.

If the Chromecast had been connected to another network previously, you will have to reset it to get it to connect.

:confused:Okay, I'm easily confused, can anyone explain?
I've got Sky tv and eir broadband which means I have the Eir & BT sports on TV. Why do I need to Cast these on to my TV?
With Sky, I have Sky go which wont allow me to view BT or Eir sports on my ipad.
Will this Chromecast yoke allow me to watch Bt & eir sports on my ipad?

Download the Eir sports app, log in and you can watch them on your ipad. You don't need the chrome cast unless you want to cast them to your tv.

I'm in the same boat as the OP; after an unsuccessful attempt a year ago to connect my chromecast to the Eir F2000 I am making another push today.

I have reset my Chromecast a number of times, it is usually timing out as part of the setup, once however it connected and got to 26% on
the update screen, which the setup goes to, but hung then. It most frequently times out saying Chromecast can't connect to the Wi-Fi.

Update: eventually on maybe the 5th try it says ready to cast!! But when I try it says connected to wi-fi but not the internet :-( This is despite my phone I am trying to cast from having internet connection over the same 2.4G wi-fi :-(

I am using the extender on the chromecast.

My Sky Q box connects to the same 2.4G wi-fi fine, the router is a couple of rooms away and can't be moved.

Is the Chromecast known to be hard to pick up wi-fi? Mine is from 03/2015. I've never been able to use it.

    Any advice appreciated.
