Explorer in Windows 10

Hi,

When I right click on a file in explorer it crashes explorer, does anybody know what causes this?

Can you check the Event Viewer if there are any errors right before it happens?

When was the last time this worked? Have you performed any updates or installed any programs since?

Make sure too that you only have one Antivirus program running as this could cause conflicts and crashes.

Does the same thing happen in safe mode?

Quite possibly a corrupt or missing context menu entry. So when you right-click, explorer crashes when generating the context menu.

Run this program to examine your context menu entries:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Delete anything you don't use or which looks bogey, reboot and try again.

Hi Seamus & me_irl

Shell extension view did the trick, I disabled app extensions and explorer is working correctly now

I need to enable them one by one now to find out the offendong app
