Ok, so I'm debating getting a Nest,
I have a bog standard oil heating system, I have a standard electric immersion with a on/off switch beside the hot press but thats also heated by the oil heating system.

My understanding of the Nest system was that I could use it to control both the oil heating and if I wanted I could use the electric heating for the water.

However after reading the Nest site I'm not so sure, will Nest only heat my water by turning on the oil heating and isolating the immersion from the rad via one of the motorized valves?

    So which is it?

Also I appear to have one motorised valve up by the immersion tank and I have two switches down by my timer switch down in the kitchen. I'm guessing the valve up by the immersion controls if its going to be heated by the oil heating system or not? But the two in the kitchen I'm not so sure.
