Could someone recommend somewhere with a good selection of mattresses on display in South Dublin or reasonable close to South Dublin?

Can only think of Harvey Normans but there must be more!

    Tks

I posted this elsewhere, no affiliation to the place at all:
We bought one from Furniture Liquidator in Sandyford Industrial estate, he had loads of different fabric options when we were there. Not too expensive, as I remember it, but I have no idea how much. Also bought a bed (mattress & base). Very happy with everything, seemed to me to be a great deal, fab mattress two years later. It was the last one in the sale, or so they said, though they might have seen me coming!

Thanks guys, this is doing my head in a bit. How can there be so many feckin mattresses in the world? Yet there's hardly a shop with a decent range of well known brands?

Argos seem to have a great sale on but am really loathe to buy without at least lying on something similar. But nowhere seems to do Silentnight for example? I have access to "which" reviews but you can't seem to get the mattresses here.

The thought now, of spending my weekend trying to look at mattresses with 2 kids in two is soul destroying :(

Not sure if you'd regard Arklow as being close to South Dublin, but I'm always pleased with range and service in Morgan Doyle's.

How much would you pay for a half decent mattress for a double bed?

    Dont buy without a try!

Honestly we bought our last Mattress from Ikea 3 years ago and to say its devine is an understatement. Has individaully pocketed springs and also memory foam and a top layer.

Basically its firm but form. and doesnt move when someone gets out of the bed on the otherside. Id buy it again in a heartbeat but should be no need as there is a long guarantee on it.

I know I should try but honestly, how can you tell after 5m esp with two pesky kids in tow? And a husband who regards shopping as the 7th circle of hell even though he is the one who wants a new one?!

I bought one for the spare room in a hurry after one such trip, am in it now and hate it. Husband loves it however.

It's supposedly pocket sprung but feels v soft and unstable to me. Can't find a spec for it though it's only a year or two old. Fecks sake.

We recently got a pocketsprung Sealy from BigMickey in Longford. It's a lovely firm mattress, highly recommend giving them a try.

I got my mattress in IKEA and it's amazing, and it was the cheapest one we've ever gotten for a bed. This is the one I got - €145 and it's so supportive and comfy. Also the cover is removable and machine washable which is nice. You can try all the mattresses there, and when we tried that one we said that's the one. Couldn't believe when I saw the price tag!! I was expecting to get up to the till and find out it had the wrong label or something.

My sister has this one and raves about it. When I was mattress shopping it was a toss up between this one and the foam one we bought, but in the end I found the foam one comfier.

IKEA also have a play centre thing, so you can dump the kids in there if you need to :pac:

Ok we managed to lie on some beds today and were really taken with a Faith & Ethan bed (emerald) but I've never heard of them. They are Irish made in Tipperary.

    Anyone any experience of them?

I'd be looking for independent recommendations rather than taking advice from a random US mattress salesman.
