Suppose if RTE get the go ahead someday to launch RTE Three, what do you think would be an ideal schedule for it ? If they had gotten the go ahead in 2011, would it be just another junk channel like 3e/be3 ?

Timeshare it with Oireachtas TV and have RTÉ Three start at 7 or 8 in the evening. Show the shows stuck in the early hours on Two like Sons of Anarchy, Gotham, The Americans, Walking Dead etc in prime time. Repeat films that are on One or Two recently. Repeat other shows during the week shown on One or Two. Like how Sky One or Atlantic repeat shows during the week. It won't set the ratings world alight but probably wouldn't cost much either. More choice for people and more add revenue for RTÉ. Now that TV3 is so big with their network they can't have the same complaints as before.

RTE 3 or RTE Plus would replace RTE 1+1 so hours would be 7 pm to midnight or 1 am. RTE 1+1 is a total waste of spectrum, but then so are the test cards.

RTE 3/plus would be used to show a lot of RTE archive material, of which they have plenty. It could also show repeats of RTE shows on a different night or even some afternoon shows - who knows - see what works.

RTE News Now needs to be included in any change to RTE 'permissions' or restrictions (allow adverts and make it a real news channel), along with freeing up RTE 2 from showing kid's programmes.

Put all RTE channels out in HD.

I think Reeling in the Years is actually a good programme. It still rates very good for RTE 1 after so many years. Every time it comes on after the news its left on almost like a default programme. Even though ive seen them all multiple times I still watch it when it comes on (especially 1990's on)
