Privacy Issue

    Hello there!

Hoping someone could assist in a query I have.
I live in DLR and we are overlooked by an old industrial school (converted to offices).

This hasn't been a problem over the last few years hanks to the recession (and the build was vacant), but now one office in particular is occupied 6/7 days a week - often until 10pm at night.

The office in question has direct and open view into the back garden, living room and kitchen.

I can appreciate occupation during normal business hours but the late nights and weekends have really started to become annoying and means we less privacy in our home.

The landlord is a hugely unpleasant person and won't engage or assist in the issue.

    Any advice?

    Thanks

    Claw

This is not a building reg or legislation issue. If the planning for office is legit then you have no redress. Close your blinds. Unless there is a planning condition for hours of usage. Check online on council website to see if there are such conditions. Otherwise its your new life!

As above, check the planning app for change of use and see if there is a restriction on working hours.

I've checked the DLR planning search site but it's rubbish. It consistently returns 1000+ results. Largely because the address is questionable and the owners may be a corporate.

    Zoning is
    OBJECTIVE E
DESCRIPTION E To provide for economic development and employment.

I appreciate I likely have little recourse but wanted to check and see if there's anything I could have done.

Make friendly contact with the office and have a chat requesting they close their blinds after 6pm. Theres usually a GIS map finder on council websites to accurately locate development and find permissions relating to that specific property. Otherwise call into planning office and theyll help you
