Hard Drive Question

    Hi. I have a 2TB external Hard Drive that is nearly full with games. My question is can I just go buy another 2TB Hard Drive and plug into my Desktop. I would then have Two 2 TB Hard Drives constantly connected to Desktop.
    Or should I buy a 4 TB Hard Drive and keep all games on that.
    I would rather have the 2 Hard Drives connected if that's ok to do.
    Any info much appreciated.

    You can indeed just connect another hard drive and start installing on that.

    You haven't mentioned whether the new drive is SSD (SOLID STATE) or mechanical( has a spinning disc).
    If mechanical find out if it is 10000, 7200or 5400 rpm ( revs per minute).

    If it has 5400rpm, I might be a bit worried.
    In all other cases you *should* be OK.

    Edit: What type of drive is the existing hard drive?

    The existing External Hard Drive is SSD.

    You're sorted: just go and buy a new 2TB SSD hard drive to add on.

    Look on the thing for 5400rpm 7200rpm or 10000rpm. This could also be in the manual if it came with one.

    You need >=7200 rpm.

    Else buy 4gb drive

    Totally disagree 5rtytry56. He's not booting from these drives, it'll have a very minor impact on game load times. Thats it.

    RPM is immaterial any more. WD dont even write it on many of their disks now.
