    Usually this question is asked in reverse....what salary do you need in dublin to match standard of living in *insert aussie city* as i have found (can't speak for everyone) that the cost of living relative to your salary is much lower in australia.

    45k euro is 65k Aus dollars so the question is would you be better or worse off with 65k Aus dollars in Melbourne compared to 45k in Dublin?

    The site in the above post gives a good indication of a direct comparison but keep in mind that the qualifications and experience you would need for a €45k job in Dublin would pay way more than $65k in Melbourne, probably $80k+.
