Is GDP usually similar to the average wage in Ireland?

Google tells me that in 2013 the GDP per capita is 50,503.42 USD. This is very much higher than the average wage in Ireland. Is this normal?

Advise not to fight data though. Irish GDP probably hits below the belt

GDP per person is not the same, as average earnings.

GDP is all income, not just wages.

In Ireland, GDP is much greater than wages.

Also, GDP per person is divided across the entire population, not just across workers.
