    This is a weird question but it's driving me mental. My Dad was in the army in the late 70s/early 80s and I remember him telling me about a senior member of staff he used to drive around. My Dad is passed away now so I can't ask him but this guy did pretty well and was promoted to a fairly high rank and he had an Italian name. Like my Dad. Anyone have any idea who I could be talking about.

    First name that springs to mind would be Vinny Savino. At that stage I think he would have been GOC east, and a Brigader General.
