Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This popped up on the AC forum, apparently the FIA are getting in on the sim racing scene in conjunction with formula E.

    Race on tomorrow.

There are some videos of professional drivers promoting sim racing and I hope the actual event will be a bit better, the rigs they used weren't really up to spec, you'd know they weren't for proper sim racers.

WTCC used to do something similar on the WTCC weekends a good few years back and it was very well run so fingers crossed.

John Henry owner in chief of Fenway Sports Group who own Liverpool FC,Boston Redsox and some pro Nascar teams aswell as owning iracing has run similar events at Nascar events in the US wirh Iracing and its known to have generated quite a lot of iracing memberships as they done it correctly with proper rigs etc.

Speaking of John henry, waaaaaay back when the first iracing beta invites were sent out I was lucky to get an invite [had a few connection in Race Sim Central back then :)] On one of the nights of the first beta John Henry popped on for a few laps and to introduce us to Dale Earnhardt JR, was an amazing experience to race with Dale JR back then [wow he was soooo smooth] but J Henry wasn't well known to me personally, it wasn't until he bought out Liverpool FC who I'm a life long fan of that it was an extra special evening back then.
Both of them spoke to us on the games built in voice comms,Dale Earnhardt still races there to this day along with many real life professional racers.

An onboard of the track has been released. People aren't to impressed with the quality of the track. They're using rFactor2.

Doomed to failure already if that's the case, choosing the worst looking sim they possibly could have.
Ofcourse RF2 has nice physics but quite a few others have equally as nice if not better physics and look an awful lot better.

After all isn't it about showcasing the sim world?

It could be a lot worse, imagine if they went with graphics only and used Pcars.

Only just read about it this morning. Seems to have gotten mixed reactions. Good to get some exposure for sim racing but a bit amateur to use an old mod which made it look a bit crap and also the bug where the initial winner got 5 or 6 laps of fan boost rather then 6 seconds, leapfrogging the drivers in first and second. /facepalm

Thankfully he was given a post race penalty and demoted back down to 3rd place.
