    Hi all,

I got an LG Smart TV today and while I can pick up the Saorview channels via the terrestrial tuning, it doesn't seem to pick up any of my free to air UK channels that I used to have via my 41FE combi box when it goes through the satellite auto tuning. It defaults to the Astra 28.2E 10700, H satellite. Is there another satellite I should be selecting? I'm connecting the 41FE box into the TV via the HDMI cable.

Secondly, do I actually need the 41FE combi box if I can connect the satellite wire directly into my new LG smart TV? I tried both options but the free to air channels fail to tune.

    Thanks!

You need to put the two cables into the LG tv direct...the sat cable...with a screw on connector need to go directly into the tv by screwing it into the back of the tv and the other directly into the tuner for the saorview channels. You do indeed select Astra 2 and make sure to tick the option to skip scrambled channels if it is not a freesat model. If its not picking up a signal check the wire is protruding out of the f connector on the end of the wire they often can loose.

Remove the 4ife box u do not need it.

Thanks a million Steveon! Your advice did the trick! It was actually the wire coming out of the satellite cable not protruding far enough to make contact with the satellite socket in the TV. I fiddled with it and all channels came through now.

Nice to get rid of the 41FE box and reduce wires and clutter too!
