When my son went to use 'putlocker' today he heard a voiceover saying credit card and Facebook details had been hacked and to contact Microsoft at a particular number ... - 'Eir user' - but we're not with Eir

He just turned off the XBox.
Anyone know what this could mean?
    Thanks

Just ignore it, If they had your credit card they wouldn't need you to call a number.
    Do not call the number.

Whats wrong with pornhub? You'll never have your credit card hacked while watching the lovely girls

Ah these people are helpful. Luckily Shan boppidy boobidy from India called me to inform me that my nonexistent Imac had a virus on it.

Annoying sh!te. Had the usual "microsoft" call yesterday. I usually have a bit of fun with them, but I just told the caller to fvck off and hung up

It's a scam. They'll either ask you to 'confirm' your bank/CC details when you call or it will be a premium rate number that will charge extremely high rates.

    Ignore it.

I love the Microsoft call, it's the best of craic (when you're in the mood for it). Usually ends up with both of us in stitches.

Thanks very much - I felt it was one of these scams but just wanted to check and I checked with my bank that there were no untoward attempts to use my card etc.
Good lesson for my son anyway!
