Seeing as a few questions about grants and applying to the tams 2 scheme tend to pop every so often on random threads I thought we could have a dedicated thread to them.

I might start off proceedings, New cashmen air feeders going into existing parlour here, would grant cover 40% of the total job I.e Labour as well as the feeders themselves?

I got a letter about an application I made back in Sept just before xmas, looking for clarification within 10works days on a certain aspect of the grant I submitted. I'm not fully sure what they are looking for, and have tried several times to call the phone number they put on the top of the letter, however nobody ever answers, it just goes on hold and after afew minutes says nobody is available and hangs up???

Right. You would think that Bordbia would push for this seen as they are always on about keeping feedstuff dry and in pest proof storage.

Don't suppose there's any sign of a grant for slat mats?

There was talk of it last year on agriland that it was going to happen but no word since. Was talking to a department man a couple of months ago and he reckoned it wouldn't go ahead. You'd want to be getting a grant on them for beef anyway.

Yeah, they're expensive alrite. Wouldn't mind doing a couple of pens for cows with feet problems as i don't have any cubicles here.

    1. If feeders are going in now you're too late. Grant would have to be got beforehand.
    2. There was an issue with those feeders back when I was looking at it. At the time, they were only qualified for the same category as a pig feeder and the grant limit wouldn't come near to covering the full cost. Don't know whether they resolved that or not

Definitely both batch and individual feeder systems covered now, the allowable amount on the individual feeders is considerably more than the batch system.

At the time, the Cashman air feeder didn't qualify for the individual feeder system rate. You'd have to have feed to yield to qualify. That was 18 months ago though that I was talking to them. As I said, I don't know if they got it sorted after or not.
