Hi, I am looking to Hire and Campervan to travel to France in September. I have looked at some of the big companies and some of them don't hire for travel to Europe or are reluctant to. Can anybody help.

Hire in France. It'll be cheaper especially as you won't have to pay the ferry from here.

Did you look at private rentals, if you search 'louer camping car' on google.fr theres lots of sites should be a good bit cheaper than renting here + ferry + diesel and you don't spend a day and half or more of your holiday just getting to france.

Has anybody been to Bordeaux region at the end of September / Start of October, if so what was the weather like and is there much open.

Generally its super weather for Irish people but you never know, have a look at the weather for the last few years. One thing to watch for is if you're planning on doing the wine tasting / vineyard tours depending on the weather throughout the season you may find the vineyward may be in full harvesting mode with no tours etc. Of course last time I was there in August a few years ago it was windy and cold (relatively speaking, probably have been a great day back hme
