    Hello.

I have been on a CE scheme about 10 months and its getting close to when I need to apply for a renewal for the second year.

Right now I would like to go back to college in September and finish a degree and I would need to be on BTEA to fund that and obviously I would need to be on JSA/JSB for that.

Been job hunting while on the scheme but to no luck and I dont want to waste another year in a placement where I do basically nothing while getting no worthwhile experience. I feel like I made the most of it and did a few FAS coerces at night while here but being here for another year seems like a waste of time.

If I dont apply for the second year and have to sign back on for the summer and return to college in September how will the Social Welfare react? Will not applying for the 2nd hear be deemed as not accepting work and I wont be able to sign on for 9 weeks?

You are not obliged to sign up to a second year on CE. In fact you may not be accepted even if you asked to continue for another year.

TUS is for only one year
CE is for 3 years and over 55 can go on in some cases for more years until their pension
